Job Description

TRS Consulting & Executive Search is partnering with a local agency in their search for an established Director of Client Development. The Director of Client Development is responsible for developing business opportunities and growing agency revenue with the acquisition of new client business and through expansion of new capabilities and into new categories. As a new business growth engine, this role targets growing categories and categories of agency experience. As a senior point of contact, the Director will work with the team to tap networks, develop business plans and goals, help direct marketing for the agency and capitalize on opportunities to create awareness. This role will also support the client management/account team as needed, particularly when onboarding new clients until a proper handoff can occur. The Director works in tight collaboration with the parent company, fields RFPs, responds to RFPs (when issued), leads pitches, works with the agency's internal teams (creative, digital, project management) as well as interfaces with vendors and partner agencies (media, production, etc) as needed to drive opportunities. You'll enjoy a creative environment in a dog-friendly office with day Fridays year-round.

Job Description:

Manage and ensure company growth through metrics like revenue, new category experience, new capability growth
Bring focus, energy, and go-to-market skills to help the agency win more business, close cycle times, and improve overall win rate
Learn and tell the agency story, as well as agency case studies and supporting context like services and capabilities, to persuasively generate leads
Track new markets, business trends and recommends business to pursue
Develop annual marketing plan with targets, categories, contacts, timing and weekly progress/sales reports
Develop awareness and marketing plan to grow visibility with social media, PR, attendance at key functions/events/conferences tied to business objectives and growth goals
Provide strategic marketing thought leadership for agency visibility and identify appropriate opportunities to build market awareness of the agency and their capabilities
Engage with agency departments, creative, research, project management, digital and outside partners to develop pitches, proposals and statements of work (SOW) and lead new business presentations and pitches
Use online tools (LinkedIn Navigator, Winmo) to support marketing and growth strategy and Salesforce to follow sales process from opportunity to new account


Desired Qualifications:
Minimum of 10+ years of successful business development history, leading RFPs, pitches and growing business in a marketing services, advertising, digital and/or PR firm
Desire to do the best work of your career and make a difference
A deep understanding of agency new business processes and ideas for improvement
Passion for the business and passionate about growing it
Solid understanding of account profitability and financial management
Outstanding leadership, communications and presentation skills
Collaborative, inclusive team player
A strong sense of responsibility to team
Strongly skilled in Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint. Skills with Salesforce a plus
Guru with PowerPoint and other presentation tools, preferred
Agency experience preferred
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or equivalent
