Job Description

TRS Consulting is supporting a St. Paul company with its search for a Application Engineer. Our client offers OEM and MRO support services for a wide range of clients within the aerospace and energy market spaces. This is a direct hire opportunity and offers a generous salary and benefits package.

The ideal Application Engineer candidate will design, implement, test, document, and support application software development for jet engine testing.

General Description/Summary:
Design, implement, test, document, and support application software development for jet engine testing.
Essential Functions:
Translate jet engine manufacturers' test procedures, interface documents, and wiring diagrams into proprietary application software configurations.
Work with the customer and manufacturer to clarify these procedures.
Install and test these configurations at customer sites.
Interface with the customer/manufacturer to accomplish the installation.
Interface with engineers and field service technicians to install and verify different jet engine instrumentation packages at customer sites.
Interface with jet engine manufacturers to install and debug their proprietary software packages.
Organize and manage the software installation at the customer site.
Keep records of your time and tools related to each customer project.
Document your work-related efforts during these installations and communicate with project managers.

Accountabilities:
Demonstrates the ability to combine several sources of information and write software to successfully test engines at customer sites within schedule and budget.
Effectively communicate with Manager, Project Manager, customer, and engine manufacturer.
Assist customers with application issues via phone, email or PC remote linkage.
Participate in system checkout when their software is in use.

Requirements/Qualifications/Education:
Bachelors of Science in Engineering or Computer Science
Minimum 3 years of related experience
Experience with C++, Java, or similar programming languages
Ability to read wiring diagrams
Microsoft Office applications proficiency
Positive attitude, team player, self-motivated
Experience with all/any of the following is desired:
Structural programming
Controls & Instrumentation
Data acquisition
Jet engine testing

Valid Driver's License & Passport Required
ITAR required US Person
